Robust and durable sensors for deployment in harsh environmental conditions such as our inductive proximity switches, magnetic switches and level switches have been in demand for decades for industrial and mining applications.
In the case of our wheel sensors, the principle of the inductive proximity switch was further developed and adapted for use in railway infrastructure. These non-contact sensors are attached to the rail and detect the metallic flanges of the wheels of passing rail vehicles. These characteristics are the key to a wide range of applications from simple switching and positioning tasks to direction detection and axle counting.
